About Studio Gracilis

Phil Runnings is a residential landscape designer and the founder of Studio Gracilis. He holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Colorado Denver, where he received the Outstanding Graduate Award and an American Society of Landscape Architects Merit Award. His experience includes residential design, planting design, construction documentation, visualization, and community-focused design work. His approach is grounded in drawing, careful observation, and a belief that good landscapes should respond thoughtfully to both the people who use them and the places they inhabit. Phil values clear communication, practical solutions, and a collaborative design process that feels personal rather than transactional.
